Initial 12 12 mth contract paying approx. $900/day Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week An experienced Stakeholder Engagement Specialist is required to undertake a stakeholder and communications role within the DPMO. Our client, a large complex Queensland Government Department, are currently seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist for an initial 1212-month contract. The Stakeholder Engagement Specialist will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary Business Transition and Stakeholder Engagement team within the Technology & Systems Delivery PMO. The team provides critical expertise across communications, stakeholder engagement, change management and business transition for DPMO projects. Working closely with project teams, this role will offer strategic, expert advice to support successful project delivery and ensure integrated, timely and effective communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. The following works are in scope: Development and delivery of strategic communication materials, including communication strategies, plans and tailored resources that support project objectives and present a consistent, positive image of the DPMO. Development and execution of stakeholder engagement planning and delivery across diverse groups, including internal and external project stakeholders, delivery partners, industry bodies, elected representatives and government agencies. Design, implementation, analysis and reporting on consultation activities, ensuring meaningful engagement with internal and external stakeholder, including delivery partners, project vendors, industry groups and other relevant community groups. Production of high-quality communication products such as fact sheets, FAQs, briefing notes, presentations and project updates that support project milestones and engagement requirements. Identification, assessment and management of stakeholder and reputational risks and issues, ensuring they are documented, monitored, mitigated and escalated appropriately to reduce project impact. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with project teams and stakeholders to ensure understanding of project goals, coordinated engagement, and the timely release of accurate information. Monitor stakeholder sentiment and feedback, identifying emerging issues or opportunities and advising project teams and executives on recommended actions. Provide best-practice communication and engagement advice, working as a trusted partner within project teams to support the development and implementation of communication and stakeholder engagement plans. Identification of critical reporting, governance and approval requirements, ensuring they are integrated into project timelines and met in a timely manner. Required competencies and experience: Minimum five years’ experience in a communications and stakeholder engagement role, ideally within a complex, multi-stakeholder or government environment. Demonstrated expertise in planning and delivering communication and engagement strategies, including accompanying material tailored to diverse audiences. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability, with the ability to offer clear, strategic advice that supports project and organisational objectives. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to shifting project needs. Proven ability to build and maintain productive, professional relationships across internal teams, delivery partners, government agencies and external stakeholders. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible messaging. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment, contributing constructively to decision-making and supporting team outcomes.
